6 Steps to Stop Surviving

Know what I’ve noticed? Too many of us simply survive as Christ followers. We may have secured our one-way ticket to Heaven…but little else in our lives resembles the “life more abundant” that Jesus not only promised but DIED for. The way I see it…to live anything less than that abundant life is a slap in the face of God. It’s like saying that the price of His Son was enough to cover the hereafter but not quite enough to take us through the here-and-now.

What do I recommend? STOP SURVIVING AND START THRIVING! How?

  • TRUST that God has and wants the best for your life
  • HEAR from God in every decision and for ever direction
  • REPROGRAM your mind by not only reading but digesting His Word
  • INVITE others to walk through your faith with you
  • VOLUNTEER your time and resources to the work of the Kingdom
  • ENGAGE those around you with love, respect, honor and Truth

Ultimately, the choice is yours. You can survive this life…or…you can T.H.R.I.V.E.!

Do You Need to Get a Life?

Science defines life as an organism that can:

  • process nourishment
  • grow
  • react to its environment
  • reproduce

How does that reflect your life as a believer? Are you truly experiencing life or are you simply existing? Can you:

  • process that which God feeds you through his Word
  • grow and mature, becoming more and more like Christ
  • react to the people around you with love, understanding, and compassion
  • reproduce by building intentional relationships that open the door for making disciples

Jesus said he came for us to have life more abundant. So ask yourself…do you need to get a life?

Where is Your Finish Line?

It is so easy to get caught up in the rat race of life. The question is: what are you running toward? What is your finish line?

Listen, if you want to win the race, you have to run toward the right finish line. Otherwise, you’re just out for a jog. You may be moving fast…but you’re getting nowhere.

How do you figure out your finish line? You have to take the time to hear from God. Then, let that word focus you and direct you to the goal God has in store for you. Don’t let distractions take your eyes off the prize. Don’t confuse busyness for progress.

Don’t waste your race!

Philippians 3:14 (NCV) -I keep trying to reach the goal and get the prize for which God called me
